While carpet remains an overall popular choice for bedrooms, stairs and second floors, more and more homes we visit have hardwood, tile or laminate floors in the living areas. This has been an ongoing trend in homes for the last decade. Even with the downturn economy, homeowners are tearing out their carpet and replacing it with hardwood flooring of some variety.
In many cases non-carpeted floors are generally easier to maintain (stains for example are usually not an issue with hard surface floors). However, they do require some care. Because of this we’ve added hardwood floor cleaning to our list of services. Hardwood, in fact can often times be as dirty as a carpet. The amount of soil and grime that can be extracted from wood is amazing.
Please keep in mind that hardwood floor cleaning is not the same as refinishing. If your floors have deep scratches (in some instances we may be able to address some scratches) or have run bare, then a refinishing is most likely in order. This is an entirely different process and one that we do not offer. Simply put, we professionally clean and buff (‘polish’ as our customers call it) wood floors.
A professional cleaning brings the shine and luster back to your floors giving it a fresh, new look. The steps required use no harmful chemicals. Floors dry quickly and this is an extremely affordable service.
Here’s how it works:
- First thing we do is vacuum and sweep all of the floors thoroughly. Dust and debris needs to be removed as much as possible.
- We then spray a cleaning solution onto the flooring. For this task we use a pet and people friendly neutral green cleaner and let dwell.
- Using our professional, weighted oscillation pad machine we run a soft scrub commercial microfiber pad across the floor providing a top surface agitation that removes soil, dirt and grime. This is immediately followed with a an absorbant terrycloth pad to remove any remaing solution, residue, etc. In addition to general soil, scuffs from shoes and more lifted away.
- Fianlly, we use a white fiber pads to help bring the luster and shine back to your wood floors. This final touch gives it a ‘polished’ look and is very long lasting.
Once dry you will be left with clean, rich hardwood floors that will simply amaze you and your guests.
