Tile makes nice flooring, but if you live in a area that has a lot of dusting the air (big cities, industrial towns), you’re going to have a lot of dust on the floor. Now, it is true that this stuff makes carpets dirty, but they also act as a filter for allergens in a way that a tile or linoleum floor cannot. With those types of flooring, you will find that they dirt circulates in the air continually, and the allergens will be in the air all the time. Carpet will trap those allergens as they fall to the floor. You will still have to keep the carpets cleaned through vacuuming and professional cleaning because the allergens must eventually be removed, but at least you will know where they are!
